Welcome to Bay Woof, February 2025

WE CHOOSE LOVE

Dogs help us keep our hearts open to love and that’s something we need now more than ever. There are some rough things going on in our country today. Our families, communities, social constructs, and democracy are all under real threats of obliteration. The news seems overwhelming and many of us feel powerless.  

But we can keep putting one foot in front of the other. We can continue to invest in and support organizations doing the work to secure our safety and the rule of law. We can support our queer, trans, and immigrant organizations and individuals. We can speak out against atrocities.  And we can love our dogs.  

Finding solace in our animal companions is a balm to our spirits in uncertain times. Some days that unconditional love we share may seem like the only bright spot in our lives.  It’s the fuel that gives us strength to fight. And then to rest, eat, walk, play - and fight again.  

This month Bay Woof celebrates love in all its forms. But every month, we will resist the darkness with overwhelming light.
